With Rudy Fugle in his pit box, William Byron stormed to a race victory at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. Despite starting well down the order, Byron clawed his way up the grid to win the race.
Through Fugle’s guidance from the pit box, the driver was able to emerge from the chaos and win the race. Recently, Fugle made an interesting confession about Byron’s fine form.
According to him, the Hendrick Motorsports team tweaked Chase Elliott’s set up to suit the #24 driver. Of course, it was also incredible that Byron was able to adapt seamlessly to the setup.

This explains why the 23-year-old was so successful at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. “William has been fast,” he said. “All the Chevrolet Hendrick Motorsports cars were super fast there last year.
“We used the No. 9’s setup, helped tweak it, worked really hard, and came up with a really good setup. William did a really good job wheeling it.”

According to the driver, he could not have achieved the win without his team’s support. Since they were able to work as a cohesive unit, it greatly contributed to their success, and Byron insisted that Fugle was a big part of it.

Similarly, Rudy Fugle sang praises of William Byron for his incredible drive. In fact, the Hendrick Motorsports driver led at least 102 laps; a career-best. In the process, he went on to earn his first stage win of the 2021 season.

It is also worth mentioning that Byron set another record at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. To be precise, he is now the youngest driver to win at Homestead at 23. In addition to that, he is the 8th Cup Series driver to boast of 2 wins before the age of 24.
