Denny Hamlin has started to wear two hats whilst he is on the track. One, as a competitive Joe Gibbs Racing No.11 gunning for a championship, and two, a co-owner wishing the best for his new outfit 23XI Racing.
So, when Hamlin gets down to racing Bubba Wallace at any Cup Series race, there will always be a level of intrigue to see what the No.11’s next move would be. But so far, no such situations have come up that have seen either of them wreck each other.
Naturally, NASCAR fans would be curious to know how Hamlin comes across when he is racing his own team’s driver. Speaking in an interview, Wallace discussed some interesting thoughts on the subject.

Will get interesting as we hit the ovals, said Bubba Wallace
The 27-year-old stated, “You look at that second stage there in the 500, I should have pulled up there in front of him. But I kind of just kept it level-headed and didn’t wanna cause any chaos there, so it’s definitely different, but I’m sure it will get interesting as we hit the ovals here.
“He did say that it could get physical if it came down to the last lap. He was going for his third Daytona 500 victory or my first.”
That said, Hamlin is an experienced professional who knows the ins and outs of NASCAR’s racing legalities. From that perspective, Wallace is clear that while the pair will race hard, they will also look to race fairly.
