2024 has been a year to forget for Rowdy. He lost a 19-year-old streak of winning a race in every single season he was a part of. Add to that the stress of going over 50 races without a win, and things got even worse. However, Kyle Busch wasn’t one to back down from a fight. He resolved to improve and jumped into dirt tracks in the offseason, winning at the Tulsa Shootout. Amidst the struggles, his wife Samantha stood by him. This time, however, she appreciated a smaller win from a few months ago.
Samantha Busch took to Instagram to celebrate the memories of Kyle Busch and his son Brexton’s win at the Millbridge Speedway.

Samantha Busch became emotional reminiscing the 2024 night while she shared the proud moment for the whole Busch family at the Millbridge Speedway with fans with a post on Instagram. Her caption read, “Congrats to my boys on their @millbridgespeedway championships!! Watching you two BTS talking racing, watching film, practicing and tho you would think it’s one-sided giving each other advice. It’s special to watch your bond and talents. Lennix and I love being there to cheer you both on 🏁🏆❤️”
The win at Millbridge was especially important since Kyle Busch’s winning drought came to an end when he won the Micro Sprint championship in the 600cc Winged class at the 1/6-mile oval in Salisbury, North Carolina, back in 2024. The two-time Cup Series champion would like to forget his performance in the 2024 season. It was a season of firsts for him, but not in a good way as it was for the first time he failed to win even a single race. He finished 20th in the final points table, which was his lowest since his debut in 2005, but he accepted the outcome gracefully and acknowledged it as a year of “character-building”.
But Busch wasn’t the only winner that day who might’ve felt more proud seeing the young racing prodigy make a name for himself than ending his no-win streak. The 9-year-old Brexton Busch took home the championship in the Restricted Micro division by scoring four wins in the seasons and finishing second in the final race. He even secured third place in the in the Box Stock division and managed second place in the JR wing division.

The wins at Millbridge were especially important for the family, not just because it broke Rowdy’s streak, but because it became a fantastic starting point for their off-season journey. As Busch revealed earlier, he’s also taking part in the Tulsa Shootout and the Chili Bowl Nationals for the first time in his career alongside his son. It gave them the confidence they needed to start the journey in the right way.

For Samantha Busch, reminiscing about the Millbridge Speedway will be even better thanks to the special memory lane book containing her son’s winning moments she received from the creative team at Millbridge Speedway. Samantha Busch also made a shout-out to the team through a story on Instagram, “Every year the track makes a special book for each kid 🥹 As a mom this means so much to get to keep every year. Thank you @millbridgespeedway”. Right now she is also reveling in her son’s recent win at the Tulsa Shootout where he captured the Golden Driller Trophy.
Brexton’s bright future in racing

It’s no secret that Brexton is following in the footsteps of his father. But with a legacy as laden with trophies as the one Kyle Busch has, it might just be a difficult task. Thankfully, for Brexton, he has his head in the right place and he proved it by winning a trophy most racers covet. At the Mecca of Micros, young Brexton won the Golden Driller against a difficult lineup, one that included Kyle Larson’s son Owen.

Having lost the title last year, Brexton was determined to change his fortunes, and it showed in the effort he put in. He even took up karting on his father’s insistence, learning a different side of racing to help his skills as a driver. Speaking about the win, Samantha said, “It’s one thing to accomplish something yourself but the amount of joy, excitement, and pride that you feel when it’s your child is another level. We are beyond proud of you Brexton you have worked so hard and we will always be your biggest supporters.”
For Kyle Busch, his son’s success is equally important. It’s not just to see him beat records, but to grow as a driver and racer and carry on the Busch family legacy. According to plans Rowdy has, Brexton could get into racing NASCAR Trucks by the time he’s 16. To make things even better, he might just do so by sharing one with Rowdy for a few years before Kyle Busch calls it quits. For now, the father-son duo’s victories are all that matter for the Busch family.
