Before the one-sided dominance from Kyle Larson at Bristol, anyone could have won the race. In fact, Denny Hamlin, who was almost eliminated in the first round, has a great record at the track. Hamlin managed to win two consecutive races at Bristol prior to the last race, and that made him a favorite for the race. However, when the lights went out, it soon became clear as to who would win.
Everything was working in Kyle Larson’s favor and he wouldn’t let anyone else take the win. The No. 5 crew performed exceptionally well during pit stops and that helped Larson maintain his lead for 462 laps out of 500. Before the race went underway, Kyle Larson spoke to his wife about the upcoming weekend, and that’s where she said something that tipped her husband off.

After Kyle Larson absolutely dominated the Cup Series race, his wife Katelyn made a few media appearances. One of them happened to be on the official YouTube channel of NASCAR. While in conversation with the host, Shannon Sparke, Katelyn Larson spoke about the big win and shared an opinion of hers from before the race went down.
In the live interview with NASCAR, Sparke asked Mrs. Larson about the race, saying, “Did you know that he was going to have such a dominant car in Bristol? I’m sure you guys talk, and he told you about how practice went and stuff like that?” Although the question was pretty direct, Katelyn Larson answered while sharing a detail that made her husband mad.
In response to Sparke, Kyle Larson‘s wife said, “Um, no, I had no idea. Honestly, I told him I thought Denny would win the race prior to practice or anything. I said, ‘Denny is really good under pressure.’” Kyle Larson did not like the fact that his wife believed that another driver could win at Bristol.
Mrs. Larson then explained, “I think that actually kind of p**ed him off that I said that, so maybe it lit a little fire under him.” She then revealed her husband’s response to her comment as the angry Larson replied, “No, he’s not going to win the race. I am.”

Maybe it was what Katelyn Larson said that sparked a fire in Kyle. Judging by what went down at Bristol, it’s safe to say that Katelyn was wrong and Kyle Larson was right on the money.
Besides being a full-time NASCAR driver, Kyle Larson also enjoys sprint racing. It also turns out that Larson started the High Limit Racing Series in 2021. Although the Hendrick Motorsports driver calls it a family-run operation, his wife came forward to say that she doesn’t do much for it.

The High Limit Racing Series has quickly grown in popularity, and some of it can be credited to the prize money that is up for grabs. Kyle Larson managed to scale the project, and as of last year, he made an announcement saying that there will be more than 50 races in the series and the winner will be taking home a huge chunk from the $5 million prize pool.
HLR was started by Kyle Larson and Katelyn’s brother Brad Sweet, with the most popular track at the event being the Silver Dollar Speedway. This is where both Larson and Sweet have raced since their early years, as it is their home track.

When Kenny Wallace visited the event, he saw the work that Katelyn Larson has been putting into the series. However, when he gave Mrs. Larson credit for what she has been doing, Katelyn denied any credit, saying, “I’m not too much involved in the high limit racing side of it more or the just the Silver Dollar Speedway promotion side of it um Rachel does I would say most everything for Silver Dollar.”
Instead of taking credit for the work she has put in, Katelyn gave credit to his brother’s wife, Rachel, who also helps around the series. Katelyn further explained, “Even the weekly shows, um, but I come for that week and help because it’s, you know, our biggest event, and because we own the series and the track promotion,, like we need all hands on deck for that week.”

With the wives being involved in HLR, it does come off as a family-run operation, and that makes it a homely event for fans too.
