The best thing about NASCAR is that, often, it’s about more than what happens on the tracks. While drivers battling it out in a race could turn ugly any second, they also have a soft side. Let’s take the example of Dale Earnhardt Jr, who is an icon in the sport and, who, after retiring, has taken to podcasting and spending time with family.
At Dale Earnhardt Jr’s home, he has his wife Amy, and two daughters, Isla Rose and Nicole Lorraine Earnhardt. When it comes to parenting, everyone has their own way of doing things, and the same goes for Dale Jr and his wife. In a recent Instagram story, Amy Earnhardt shared a post saying that she felt relatable regarding their parenting styles. This came with a comment for Earnhardt Jr, as she revealed where their styles differ.

Amy Earnhardt is quite active on Instagram, with over 295k followers. As a “wife, mom, and professional pillow,” according to her Instagram bio, she shares many relatable memes and posts about her life on the platform. So it’s not uncommon to find some interesting stories on her profile. Like the recent one where she shared a meme that read, “When you tell your kid it’s bedtime but your husband tells him he can have 5 more minutes.”
This was accompanied by a scene from the famous sitcom The Office’s Michael Scott, played by Steve Carell. Amy Earnhardt added a caption to the story, revealing something that comes up while parenting with her husband. She wrote, “Dale and me all damn week. Or month. I can’t tell anymore.” Apparently, when it comes to having rules at home, Dale Earnhardt Jr is the one who lets the kids bend them a bit.
Amy has wittily and humorously exposed that she has to be the stricter one when it comes to the kids, while Dale Jr ends up being the more relaxed one. Their dynamic while parenting the kids is quite perfect, with the daughters having a balance of both. But that does not let Amy look like the stricter one, as they both are extremely close to their little girls. Even in the story before that, Amy was promoting a product brand that helps children pack their toys up after playing.
So while there is a side that wants to maintain discipline at home, she also helps teach the kids responsibility. Although they have different parenting styles, one thing they both have in common is love for each other and the kids. And the story of the two meeting each other is nothing short of adorable.
