The Busch Clash at the LA Coliseum bought plenty of positives for NASCAR fans and the sport. The exhibition race was indeed a big success on many counts. However, one thing that worried some, especially most of the teams was the way cars and parts were ‘falling apart,’ on which, Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr has, a hot take, to say the least.

In one of his recent showings at the Dale Jr. podcast, the former driver addressed the discourse surrounding the parts failure. And his opinion on the matter of failing parts? “That’s a great thing.”

“As a broadcaster and as a fan, I think some..I think when the car is delicate, when the parts mileage out, before the end of the race, I think that’s a great thing,” Earnhardt Jr said.

But he soon elaborated himself as he explained, “Now we don’t need everybody breaking trans-axles, we don’t need everybody failing parts so forth. But I think the potential..the dark cloud sort of hanging over all the time, the possibility that the car might fail you, is something that we’ve absolutely lost in this sport.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr claims anxiety and angst surrounding this problem, “a good thing”

The JR Motorsports owner explained how he isn’t concerned as a fan over a part failure or any kind of problems with the car. “Because I think that potential, that anxiety and angst is a good thing,” he added.

“The potential of that happening is kind of a good thing to the suspense of the moment.”

Nevertheless, Dale Earnhardt Jr is sure that if the issues become common or they reoccur, those concerned will deal with them effectively.
