This weekend is the NASCAR Cup, Truck, and Xfinity Series finale. Without a doubt, the Cup Series championship is the biggest event of the three, where Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin, and Martin Truex Jr will face off for the ultimate crown. Obviously, the battle will be fierce, and there is a chance of a no holds barred dogfight.
With this, there is a danger that some of the championship contenders could crash out. This is all the more tricky, considering that there are non-championship drivers in the race as well. A few drivers have already complained about their interference this year. In light of this, there may be a slim chance that none of the Final 4 could make it to the chequered flag.
In that unlikely event, a rule states, “The race finishing positions will be determined according to the most laps completed in the least total time. Regardless of whether the vehicle is still running or not.”

Considering that there will be practice and qualifying, their starting positions are in their own hands. Meaning that Elliott, Larson, Truex Jr and Hamlin won’t have the luxury of starting at the front together. However, that will only be possible if they somehow set the fastest, second, third and fourth-fastest laps.
Then again, qualifying is one thing, the race itself could be a completely different beast. All that the quartet need to do is survive the race and try to see which of them can finish the highest. Out of the four of them, Chase Elliott and Martin Truex Jr are already champions. Meanwhile, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson are gunning for their maiden Cup Series title.

So the big question is, which of them will emerge victorious? Additionally, will the rest of their teammates try and aid their cause? Or will some of the other drivers on the track play a pivotal role in one of them winning or losing the title?
