Hailie Deegan is slowly and steadily rising the ranks. After impressive performances on the ARCA stage, she moved up to the Truck Series and will soon be entering her third season. Ahead of the 2023 season, she and several other drivers competed in the BMW M Endurance Challenge at Daytona.
Safe to say, her team performed exceptionally well, and she managed to finish on the podium. The race itself saw Harrison Burton and Zane Smith pilot the #42 Ford Mustang GT4 to victory.
It’s okay! It made the argument of who keeps the trophy a lot easier 😂 https://t.co/Cz5ZxC1Mwk

Behind them were BGB Motorsports’ Spencer Pumpelly, Thomas Collingwood, and Jeroen Bleekemolen. Meanwhile, Deegan and Ben Rhodes finished in a fine third place. Unfortunately, during the podium ceremony, only Deegan turned up and received the trophy. As it turned out, Rhodes had to rush off to catch a flight immediately after the race. As a result, Deegan was all by herself on the podium, but getting the trophy was worth it.

Hailie Deegan got an apology from Rhodes afterward
Of course, the driver was nice enough to apologize for absconding, but he was on a time crunch. Hailie Deegan was quick to forgive him, but could not resist gloating about keeping the trophy. It is worth noting that Deegan also led the race for a brief while very early in the race. According to reports, she hit the front within the hour, with a swooping move to the outside of turn 4. Unfortunately, it did not last very long, as Eric McAlister took the lead.
Now, Rhodes and Deegan will be hard at work preparing for the 2023 NASCAR Truck Series season. After a slightly disappointing 2022 campaign, Hailie Deegan will want to finish higher up the order. In addition to that, her target will be taking a maiden Truck Series victory at some point in the 2023 Truck Series season.
