Rich racing legacies are a fairly common occurrence in the NASCAR community. We have the Earnhardts, the Pettys, the Elliotts, the Blaneys, and many more. However, one racing pedigree that most people don’t of is the one Hailie Deegan hails from; her father Brian Deegan is a well-known motocross rider.
Deegan Sr is a Nebraska native and pursued a pro supercross career with Team Moto XXX when he was 17. A few years later, in 1997, he won the 125cc main race and popularized Freestyle Motocross racing. It is also worth mentioning that he was the first rider ever to land a Mulisha Twist in competition; this move is primarily a twisting backflip 360 on a motocross bike.
He is also familiar with the four-wheel territory, having competed in short course off-road racing in 2009. That year, he emerged as the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series’ Unlimited Lites division champion. A year later, he competed in the 2010 X Games, in the Rally Car Racing event. Unfortunately, a wrong turn resulted in him finishing second to Tanner Foust.

Brian Deegan also got a chance to take the truck for a spin at Phoenix, Arizona at Chase Field. Sadly, another injury sidelined him from the Monster Jam World Finals 13 in the practice session.
It is also worth mentioning that Deegan competed in the Global RallyCross Championship for several years. His best finish was runner-up in 2012, fourth in 2013, and third in 2016. Since then, he has been quite supportive of his daughter, Hailie, in her NASCAR exploits.
