Pre-season is the only time when drivers get to unwind and reset. Meanwhile, they also have to keep themselves mentally and physically strong and prepare for the upcoming season. With Kyle Busch moving to a new team and Chase Elliott finishing 2022 on a disappointing note, both drivers and respective fans will be looking forward to the new season.
The Kyle Busch saga with Joe Gibbs Racing was a narrative that floated around a lot during the second half of the 2022 season. A veteran and a legend for the team—one who won them 2 Cup Series titles—was left in the wake by JGR. Moreover, he lost his longstanding sponsor, M&M, who decided to leave NASCAR altogether. At the end of the messy divorce, all parties seemingly came out winners. JGR promoted the heir to the Gibbs name, Ty Gibbs, to a full-time Cup Series seat. Busch, on the other hand, found a seat with Richard Childress Racing. He also found several sponsors willing to bet on his skills and abilities.
For Chase Elliott, the season was going well until the last race in Phoenix. Considered by many as the favorite to win the race, Elliott found himself out of contention very early in the race. His contact with Ross Chastain spun him out, effectively ending his title chase.

But both drivers are seasoned and have proven records of winning. They understand the ups and downs are all part of the journey, and they will undoubtedly be gearing up to have a good 2023. Meanwhile, NASCAR on NBC has started a feud between the fans of the two drivers.
Fans debate Kyle Busch v. Chase Elliott
Elliott has been an old-time customer of the #9 car for Hendrick Motorsports while Busch has taken up the #8 car at RCR. With the interest in the upcoming season building up, NASCAR on NBC went on social media to seek the fan favorite.

Most of the fans seemed to side with Busch for this one. His experience and years in the sport count much more than Elliott’s recent record according to fans.
Kyle would be vital in building a team and would run decent, Elliott would run great but give nothing when it comes to building the team, so Kyle https://t.co/3W6E3fEZRR

Here’s a take I never would have envisioned a few years back. I’d actually take Kyle. The “zero-personality kid that’s never in the wrong on anything” has gotten old. https://t.co/9tzmHubs8u

Said it before and I’ll say it again, I’ll take kfb with a fire under his ass any day of the week. He’s gonna be a killer this year. Watch. https://t.co/ptEQbghNdg

Kyle can wheel anything. He’s proved it. Chase is a great driver, but we’ve never seen him wheel anything that’s underperformed. He’s always had the best equipment given to him

Chase is a spoiled little rich kid that can race whatever daddy buys for him like most younger NASCAR drivers today and Rowdy is a driver that has raced anything he has earned and given the opportunity to race which makes my choice Rowdy.

Is this a question? 😂😂 KFB without a shadow of a doubt.

I can't believe I'm saying this. But @KyleBusch. Man can drive and race anything. Understands teams. Understands what he needs to go faster. Can find troubled areas. His truck team has been the dominant team since KHI left. He's a major asset.

Kyle in a heart beat, all of his experience and understanding of the cars over the years can and will help build a better performing team. All of what he can share with the engineers and crew chief would be so valuable in building consistency for a championship run.

However, keeping personal leanings aside, it would be comparatively difficult for Busch to compete with the firepower Elliott has backing him. Do you think Busch stands a chance?
