Last year, there was a bit of a feud between Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick. It got to a point where they even began taking jabs at each other. Things eventually got to a head at the Bristol Motor Speedway, and Harvick was pretty mad about the ordeal. Of course, there was a post-race confrontation, and things turned ugly. Fortunately, as time passed, tempers cooled and all was forgiven. In a chat with Dale Earnhardt Jr, Harvick explained why he was mad at Chase Elliott.

He said, “That conversation, he understood where I was coming from. I understood where he was coming from, but in the end, he took hundreds of thousands of dollars out of everybody’s pocket. All the team guys were mad. Everybody in the company gets a bonus for winning the race. Everybody there was mad. Those particular instances, you have to do what’s right for your team. You have to pick and choose those battles. At the Roval, it was just the way that it went.”

Hopefully, Kevin Harvick and Chase Elliott will not repeat the saga in 2022
This time around, the 16 Playoff drivers are in a tricky position. Darlington and Kansas have already wrapped up, and none of them have won at either track. So, there is a lot of pressure to try and snatch a race win at the Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend. At the same time, they will be keen to prevent any non-Playoff driver from reaching Victory Lane.

This will also be the time when the drivers really pull out the big guns. They all know that they have to step up the aggression and put themselves in contention for the title. The likes of Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick are looking to add a second title to their collection. Similarly, Kyle Larson is hunting for a second consecutive Cup Series crown. Many other drivers are also on the prowl for championship glory.
