The ‘C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group’ is a congregation of 96 cities across the world that aim to fight climate change collectively. According to a recent report by the media and news company “Valuetainment”, the American cities that are a part of this group have signed an agreement with a rather shocking goal. ‘C40 is a global network of mayors of the world’s leading cities that are united in action to confront the climate crisis.’ That’s the header of the organization’s website. With the mayors of 96 cities coming together to progress towards a greener world, the pacts and resolutions made by them cannot be dismissed as loose talk. The current agreement that has been signed, though, is limited to the American cities that are a part of this group. Including major hubs such as New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, a total of 14 cities have committed to a meat and dairy free life by 2030.

With the climate agreement drawing criticism for its brutal short term goal, Patrick’s disappointment can be well understood. One of the participants of the agreement was the city of Phoenix. The fact that Danica Patrick owns an 8300 square foot mansion in Scottsdale, a mere 13 miles from Phoenix, underlines the reason behind her reaction.
