Following the NASCAR Cup race at Texas last week, Denny Hamlin had a bone to pick with William Byron. During a caution period, the #24 driver bumped into Hamlin and spun him around. Naturally, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver was fuming, because he lost a good chance to win the race. In light of this, Dale Earnhardt Jr reflected on the incident and Hamlin’s promise for revenge.

Dale Jr said, “After contact with Larson at the end of Stage 1, Denny says, ‘You tell him I’m not lifting on the next one’. Then after Denny gets spun by Byron, the crew chief comes, ‘I can’t believe NASCAR didn’t penalize him’, and Denny said, ‘I’ll give him his penalty when he gets back here to me’.

In response, Dale Jr Download co-host Mike Davis joked that Hamlin often promised punishment for wrecking rivals. Then he joked, “What does Kyle Petty got to say about this, is what I want to know.”

The Kyle Petty jab is obviously a cheeky dig at Dale Jr himself. This was an incident, where long ago, he suddenly said, “What the f**k does Kyle Petty have. to do with this?”

Coming back to the subject of Denny Hamlin, Dale Jr talked about Hamlin’s list of drivers to exact revenge on. He said, “He’s adding Byron to that long list. This looks like one of them ridiculous receipts you get from the grocery store. It’s like three feet, and you’re like ‘What the hell! Why is this so long?’

One thing is for sure, Byron will probably have to get in line to receive Hamlin’s punishment. The first person will most likely be Ross Chastain, who made a nuisance of himself on multiple occasions. Of course, Hamlin will first have to make sure that he is alive in the Playoff competition, before thinking of vengeance.
