It is an open secret that the world of motorsports has always been dominated by the whims of a select few men. Female presence on the asphalt has always been liminal and only a handful have been able to break the glass ceiling. Among them, Danica Patrick’s name shines in gold. Apart from boasting of numerous achievements, Patrick has made sure that her concerns are not restricted to the tracks and cars but also at a humanistic level.
Retired from professional racing, Danica Patrick ensures that her intellectual makeup does not go in vain and contributes to worldly causes. This is apparent from her periodic Instagram posts and also her podcast “Pretty Intense.” On account of this, in her latest Instagram post, Patrick seems to draw attention to one such profound concern pertaining to the world of pharmaceuticals as she bashes the industry for its heartlessness.

Danica Patrick’s life away from the steering wheel has been busier than ever. From appearing in a music video of the well-acclaimed band Maroon 5 to providing deep philosophical insights into life, Patrick does it all seamlessly. Moreover, her podcast Pretty Intense has garnered a huge following owing to her idiosyncratic taste and the plethora of guests that she hosts.
Nevertheless, in a shift in her attention, Patrick in her latest Instagram seems to focus on how pharmaceutical companies are churning huge profits. She supposedly hinted that these brands use humans as prey to generate money without delivering upon their promises. The Instagram story that she posted read, “Big Pharma made well over $1 Trillion last year, and not a single dollar was spent on improving your health.”
This post comes months after the introduction of the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, in order to keep a check on the high drug prices and to bring parity and ensure the affordability of life-saving drugs. However, as a response pharmaceutical giants, have threatened to slow-walk in introducing life-saving drugs to the market as a form of protest against the new law.

Nevertheless, apart from dedicating her time to social causes, Danica Patrick has made sure that she keeps returning to her racing roots in some way or the other, one such being through race broadcasting and race commentary.
On being questioned about her transition from wheels to microphones on a Question and Answer Series, the former Stewart-Haas Racing driver revealed, “It’s good. I’ve been retired for a little over five years, and every year my broadcasting presence has grown just a little bit.
“It started with just doing the Indy 500, and then it went to a couple of NASCAR races, one F1 race, and now it’s like a bunch of F1 races as well as the Indy 500 and a couple of NASCAR races. So I have myself a little 10-race series in the season now. So, that feels like a really good retired map right now.”
