Since the beginning of his career, the Cup Series champion Chase Elliott has won people’s hearts. He is considered one of the top drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series currently. But is racing the only profession the young man wants to pursue? 

Many people might be of the opinion that Chase had it easy than many others because of the legacy he carries. His father Bill Elliot was one of the greatest drivers of his time and is a Hall of Famer. Even though the legacy can be challenging to live up to, Elliott has been doing a great job as a racer. In the Heidi and Frank Morning Show, he was asked if it weren’t for his family legacy, what would he have chosen to do?

Chase Elliott has another exciting career choice!

The Hendrick Motorsports star didn’t seem surprised to be asked the question, as he replied straightaway, “A lot of my family members have been in aviation over the years. My dad flies; I have uncles and aunts that fly. It is really a thing that a lot of us are into, so maybe something in that area but we’ll cross that bridge when I get fired. How about that?”

It is interesting that he has found another family legacy to follow. The fans can also take this as a hint that in the future, they might find him in competition aerobatics. 

The similarities between the duo don’t end here

Shared interests in professional racing and aviation are not the only similarity between Bill and Chase Elliott. The similarity also extends to their uncanny ability to win the NASCAR Cup Series Most Popular Driver Award. Bill Elliott won the award a record-breaking 16 times in his career whereas Chase has been winning it consecutively since 2018.

Chase has always given credit to his father for bringing out his passion for racing. When his father was at the peak of his career, Chase started accompanying him to the tracks. It was then that he realized he wanted to do that too.

But Chase still has to go a long way to go before he justifies the legacy set by Million Dollar Bill. He certainly has the driving skills, determination, as well as charisma required to become one of the all-time greats.
