Championship leader Denny Hamlin will start on pole position for Sunday’s race, ahead of Martin Truex Jr. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver will be keen to finally get that first win of the 2021 season. Even if he does not, Hamlin will most likely settle for extending his championship lead over his rivals.
Of course, just because Hamlin is on pole for the Cup Series race, it does not mean that he will win. The past few Cup Series races have proven that just about anybody can reach Victory Lane. However, it is also worth mentioning that Hamlin has won the race back in 2012. On the other end of the scale, Kevin Harvick is the last winner at the track.
Without a doubt, Hamlin will try everything in his power to emerge victorious. However, he knows that all his rivals will be right on his tail and won’t let him get away so easily. Irrespective of this, the veteran driver is still an excellent racer, and he is certainly capable of winning races, as evidenced in the 2020 season.
