During the interview, Bubba said, “Well, obviously 2020 was the year that we all wish we could forget. From everything that we have seen on the TV screens to Covid to just the downright bad stuff that African Americans had to go through well.”
“You know I was thrown in the spotlight, even more, just being the only driver and so there are two things either you can you know fold or put your feet down and keep on running. And I don’t tend to fold on situations that come in front of me so you have to make the most of it and I have just been proud to enjoy it.”
He added, “There are the fans that think I walk around screaming hey I’m Bubba Wallace Black Driver. I’m like no I’m just Bubba Wallace right?”
“I wish I could work on the disconnect but a lot of people have their minds already made up and that’s the sad truth about America we tend to judge before we understand.”
