We often see Bubba Wallace as the victim of unfortunate pit-stops, and Nashville was no different. The driver had another sub-par experience with his pit crew, leading to a major radio rant. Although Wallace still finished 12th, Bubba’s crew chief, Bootie Barker, had some things to say in his, and the crew’s defense.

During the red flag caused by rain, Wallace got out of his car and silently walked. Of course, disappointed by his sub-pad pit stop, the driver didn’t bother talking to his crew.

However, in conversation with The Athletic, his crew chief, Bootie Barker, defended the driver saying, “He’s beat down and frustrated.”

No one can deny that despite the let down, Wallace finished a decent 12th, and his crew chief felt they had some role too, as he added, “But you got to look at what he did at the end. We flipped the script to give him track position, and he held them off from old tires and got a decent finish out of it. So regardless of what he says, he still battled.”

What Was Bubba Wallace’s Radio Rant?

Richard Childress Racing driver, Tyler Reddick had contact with Bubba Wallace, causing a loose wheel on the #23 car.

Naturally, the crew chief for the #23 car asked Bubba to come in the pits to get it fixed. However, an already agitated Bubba Wallace lashed out and said, “Leave me the f**k alone, dude. Don’t talk to me the whole f*****g race,”

Clearly, Wallace was very unhappy. And, it’s understandable, especially after the crew has sabotaged the #23 car’s race mode times far too many times now. And it happens most weekends, with him trying to be faster each time.

Moreover, Fellow teammate Kurt Busch’s #45 car, led by crew chief Billy Scott, made its way into the top 5. Kurt Busch again found his way in a good position, racing in the same equipment as Bubba.

Of course, we can’t deny that Kurt Busch has more experience racing in a stock car. But Wallace is a fast driver, and he has proven himself every time he’s out on track. In the end, only time will tell what the future holds for the #23 car.
