The Saturday night on the track of Daytona was marked with laughter and tears, as a few drivers gained while others had to encounter a despairing loss. Among the series of accomplishments, it was Bubba Wallace who earned the most. The 23XI Racing driver was finally able to clinch his playoff berth after RFK Racing’s Chris Buescher clinched a clinical win on the iconic track.

The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series returned for the second time on the iconic track of Daytona. The final race of the regular season delivered all the elements that a fan could ask for, cautions, wrecks, and an overtime winner. However, the race also witnessed a harrowing crash of Ryan Preece, after his car went airborne along with a dozen of turns. The SHR driver was able to exit his car on his own accord before being transported for emergency medical attention.

Nevertheless, the silver lining of the race was the confirmation of Bubba Wallace for the playoffs. However, the race also bore witness to the shattering of the playoff dreams, including Ross Chastain’s teammate Daniel Suarez. The emerging driver had exhibited his undaunting prowess on the track and often led the pack. However, Suarez fell a few steps short and was unable to qualify for the post-season.

Speaking of which, the #99 Chevrolet driver in an interview with Frontstretch media disclosed the possible elements that had gone awry and ended their favorable day. On being asked if there was anything that they could do better, Suarez expressed, “I don’t think so. I mean the only thing that we could have on different is execute better in the Stage 3.”

I think we did a good job in Stage 1 and Stage 2, but the most important stage is 3 and we just didn’t do a great job,” Suarez added.

Continuing on the same note, what would be the next steps for the upcoming season, and whether now he could dedicate his time for winning?

To this, the Trackhouse Racing driver retorted, “I was focusing on winning anyways.  Honestly, I wasn’t focusing too much on playoffs or anything like that, this is what it is.”

“We have to continue to to work, continue to get better, and hopefully we come back stronger in the next two-months and a half,” Suarez concluded.
