Usually, the off-season is meant for drivers and their families to relax and unwind after a demanding year on the road. However, it seems like Kyle Busch’s family has a lot going on, even in the absence of Cup Series action. ‘Rowdy’ is all set to make his USAC Midget racing debut at Bakersfield Speedway on November 26 after a winless Cup Series year in 19 seasons. But their journey to the airport didn’t go as planned, resulting in the family almost missing their flight.
Samantha Busch, who is known for her social media presence, revealed the travel woes they experienced on their latest trip to the west coast. From Lennix Key Busch’s blowout to Brexton being amused at his mother’s struggles, the morning didn’t start well for the Richard Childress Racing driver’s family.
It all started as the family was getting ready for Kyle Busch’s new adventure. The Nevada native is aiming to compete alongside his son Brexton at the Tulsa Shootout before shifting his focus to the 39th annual Chili Bowl in 2025. Eager to leave no stone unturned when it comes to making preparations, the veteran driver is flying to the east coast for his debut race at the November Classic.

However, the journey didn’t go according to plan. According to Samantha Busch’s Instagram story from November 21, the social media influencer wrote in the caption, “Here we go, west coast for a while,” followed by another story featuring her husband and daughter Lennix Key Busch. The second story was captioned, “Had her in the cutest travel outfit then she proceeded to have a blow out in it in the middle of the night and it was a mad rush to bathe and change her at 5 am luckily we made it in time,” she wrote before adding, “We are not morning people.”
However, the troubles didn’t end there, as her third story revealed that yet another incident occurred during their journey. Kyle Busch’s wife wrote on Instagram, “I also proceeded to hit a bump walking. Have my carry on tumble and then I fell over my luggage in front of everyone. Brexton got quite the kick out of it. It’s been a morning. 😅” Despite their travel woes, the family managed to board their flight in time and appeared to be in good spirits on their way to the destination. With the 39-year-old attempting a new motorsports discipline, having his family in the stands will motivate him on the racetrack.
The two-time Cup Series winner will be hungrier than ever to succeed. After a disappointing season, Kyle Busch will hope to hit the ground running in the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway next year, which might be one of the reasons he’s competing in Midget Racing. Momentum can go a long way in achieving results on the racetrack and with his family’s support, the Richard Childress Racing driver will hope for a change in fortunes in 2025.

Samantha Busch and her family’s favorite places to travel
The Busch family enjoys traveling. During the Olympics break, Samantha and Kyle Busch were seen in Italy, taking a well-earned break after the rigors of a demanding Cup Series season. The family of four visited some of the most iconic tourist attractions in the country while sampling the local cuisine and undertaking some difficult hikes. In an AMA (Ask Me Anything) initiated by the social media influencer, she was asked about a fan about her family’s favorite holiday destinations.

The fan asked Samantha, “Do you guys go to Miami a lot?” to which she replied, “We try to get there a few times in a year. It’s a short flight so it’s easy and there’s so much to do and great food! Miami and Scottsdale are our fav places.” With Kyle Busch’s midget racing commitments, will the family manage to take another trip to their favorite holiday destination, before the NASCAR Clash at Bowman Gray on February 2nd? Time will tell. However, given the ease and accessibility of both locations, taking a short trip should be quite manageable, despite Rowdy’s hectic schedule.
Samantha has been by her husband’s side, throughout the highs and lows of his NASCAR career. The mother of two knows more than anyone else how difficult the season has been for the veteran racer, going on to say, “There were some great moments and some really hard ones but through it all we did it as a family, the team always kept working their hardest and the support and love from all of you never wavered.” With a few months remaining until the Cup Series resumes, Kyle Busch will do what it takes to be in peak condition before he begins his 20th season at the sport’s highest level.
