The 2022 season wasn’t the best for Hendrick Motorsports. Surely neither the team nor their star driver, Chase Elliott, had started the year aiming for their only silverware being the Most Popular Driver award. But with the 2023 season on the horizon, bookies believe next year will be better.

Before the Championship 4 race in Phoenix, Chase Elliott had a pretty great season. The stats speak for him as he won 5 races over the course of the season. With such an impressive record, and having won the Cup Series in 2020, Elliott was among the favorites to win.
Bookies at the time had put him as the favorite for the race, with Caesars Sportsbook putting him at +240 to win. Christopher Bell was at +325, Joey Logano was at +375, and Ross Chastain was at +400. But everyone knows how things panned out.
Logano ended up with that prized trophy in his hands while Elliott finished in the 28th position that night. He could argue that Chastain’s wild move that spun Elliott out was to blame for it – but that argument wouldn’t change the results of that night.

Given his performances last season, and over the last few years, they again touted him to be the favorite for the next season. BetOnline has released its odds for the 2023 Championship winner, and Elliott leads by a country mile.
Elliott is 23/4 to win followed by teammate Kyle Larson (6/1) and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin (8/1).
He definitely has the ability and a talented team and crew. Could he really do it?
Fans don’t agree with the odds of Chase Elliott
As soon as the news about the odds hit the stands (read: the social media), fans were quick to comment. A number of fans pointed out their concerns with the odds released.
Those oddsmakers hit the crack pipe really hard before making those.
