Cup Series: Denny Hamlin’s tire fiasco
After that, the video features the unfortunate incident which took the Brickyard victory away from Hamlin’s grasp. A tire failure ended his run with just a few laps to go. Before the incident, Denny was pushing hard to keep his lead and the high downforce track took a heavy toll on his tires.
He himself admitted in an interview with NASCAR’s website. He said that he was pushing the tires hard and it was a gamble which turned against him.
