Back in 2019, there was a bit of a row between Bubba Wallace and Alex Bowman at the Charlotte Roval. The duo was battling it out for a fairly long time, and things were getting fierce. Things got to a stage where Bowman’s #88 car bumped into Wallace’s #43 car.

The African-American driver was sent straight into a wall and it was enough to send him down to 24th place. Naturally, he was livid! This culminated in a confrontation between the two, and Bubba Wallace threw water in Bowman’s face.

It was fortunate that the argument did not escalate into fisticuffs, but Wallace was still angry. The accident was clearly Bowman’s fault as he was on the outside and tagged the Richard Petty Motorsports driver into a spin.

How did Bubba Wallace and Alex Bowman perform in the race?

As mentioned before, Wallace could only muster a lowly 24th-placed finish. On the other side of the fence, Bowman added insult to injury with his 2nd-place finish.

Truthfully, that could have been Wallace right up there and he could have potentially challenged the race winner, Chase Elliott, for the win. It is worth noting that Elliott himself ran into a few issues of his own during the race.

Right in the beginning, he out-braked himself at the first corner and went nose-first into the tire barrier. He managed to extricate himself, and then he mounted an epic comeback.

Sadly, poor old Bubba Wallace could not afford the same luxury. Considering that Alex Bowman finished 2nd, Bubba Wallace obviously felt that it should have been him up there in second.
