Chase Elliott has long been a part of the stock racing world. Kick-starting his racing career from the grassroots level to eventually being crowned as the 2020 Cup Series champion, Elliott has become an indispensable part of NASCAR. However, for Elliott, racing has never been a thing that happened at the spur of the moment, but something that runs deep in his veins, thanks to his father Bill Elliott.

As a result, the young Elliott has been exposed to the unwavering world of NASCAR, since his childhood days. Moreover, this exposure to the racing world at an early age allowed Elliott to make acquaintance with the veterans of the racing world. Owing to this, Elliott also had the virtue to come close to the ‘Intimidator’ Dale Earnhardt. Well, one might not believe this fact, but there is hilarious proof to corroborate the fact.

When Chase Elliott intimidated the intimidator

Before making his debut in the Cup Series back in 2016, replacing Jeff Gordon in the #24 Chevrolet car, Chase Elliott was already apprised of the intricate world of NASCAR. Moreover, it won’t be a stretch to say that it was this early revelation to the racing world that perhaps acted as a building block for the golden boy of NASCAR.

Visiting the race tracks and cheering for his father Bill Elliott, was not something extraordinary for the #9 Chevrolet driver. Apart from his father, Elliott was also able to meet the stalwarts of NASCAR, who have helped in propelling the sport to its glory. One such being the Intimidator himself. This is apparent from a resurfaced video of Elliott and Dale Sr.

The video was a clip from 2001’s Budweiser Shootout at Daytona. In the video, Dale Sr was seen shaking hands with his fellow drivers and came across a young Chase Elliott, wrapped in his father’s arms. When Dale Earnhardt stretched out to shake his hands with the little boy, Elliott threw a punch at the NASCAR legend.

This was perhaps one of the last memories of Dale Earnhardt that has stuck with the NASCAR world, as the year 2001 was one of the darkest years in the history of the sport. The Intimidator breathed his last, after being embroiled in an infamous accident on the track of Daytona.
