Home/NASCAR

With the NASCAR off-season well underway, most drivers are taking advantage of this period to relax. Among them is Ty Gibbs, who wrapped up his ARCA Series season earlier this year. Recently, the Joe Gibbs Racing Xfinity driver made an appearance as a spectator for a Nashville Predators ice hockey game. The Predators made mincemeat of the Columbus Blue Jackets with a 6-0 victory.

The ARCA Series champion hung out with Gnash, the Predators mascot, and had a grand old time. As per Joe Gibbs Racing’s observations, this was the 19-year-old’s first live NHL game. At that particular game, alternate captain Filip Forsberg was the star of the show with four goals. Additionally, Yakov Trentin and Nick Cousins also contributed a goal each.

What next for Ty Gibbs and his future in NASCAR?

Last year, Gibbs made a heck of a splash in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. In his limited appearances for the #54 Toyota, he notched up an impressive four wins. Owing to his performance, the JGR team saw fit to reward him with a full-time drive for the 2022 Xfinity Series season.

Needless to say, the driver is thrilled and eager to prove that their faith does not prove to be unfounded. The teenager is quite talented and will also have several drivers to learn from. This includes the likes of Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr, Denny Hamlin, and more. Gibbs also partners Brandon Jones in the #19 car, though his other teammates are yet to be confirmed.
