Earlier, the World Of Outlaws paddock paid a visit to the Huset’s Speedway. Unfortunately, there was a bit of an incident during one of the races. The #2 car of David Gravel was rounding a corner when the side of the vehicle clipped an open gate on the track. In all honesty, it was odd that the gate was open and hanging in such a dangerous spot.

Another victim was the #1 car of Logan Schuchart, and the reason behind the open gate was a malfunction. For some strange reason, the track officials could not make any repairs and rectify the problem. According to some reports, this was mostly the fault of the World Of Outlaws regulations, which prevented this. Hopefully, in the future, the organization tweaks the rules in order to accommodate stoppages for track repairs.
What else happened during the World Of Outlaws race?
The series was very lucky that the ones who clipped the gate were able to get away easily. Otherwise, the whole situation could have been a whole lot worse. The organizers were lucky that there were no injuries, or in the worst-case scenario, a fatality.

In the end, Sheldon Haudenschild won the race, but the bigger story is the malfunctioning gate. An ideal solution would have been to red flag the race, long enough to fix the gate or at least shut it. Otherwise, it simply acted as an obstruction, especially since it was so close to the racing line. As evidenced by Gravel, there are times when drivers cannot avoid it, and it was fortunate that they did not crash into the gate.
