For most of the season, Ross Chastain was viewed as Public Enemy #1. Owing to his tendency of running into his competitors, the name is quite befitting. However, who knew that Chastain has a soft spot for someone special on the tracks?

During NASCAR’s Championship 4 Round table, Ross Chastain shared a ‘romantic’ exchange with none other than Chase Elliott. During the conversation, Ross Chastain discussed how he pulled off the viral video-game move at Martinsville. Moreover, he discussed what exactly was going on in his mind while attempting it.

However, just then he stopped and posed a question for Elliott. He said, “And I actually have a question for Chase. What did you think when you were right behind me?”

Replying to Chastain, Elliott said, “I knew why you were doing it. I mean some people were like, I thought the throttle hung or something. So, I knew right off the bat what was going on. So, yeah, I guess I might have been the first person to see what was going on.”

And immediately after Elliott’s answer, Ross Chastain revealed a heart-warming memory that he remembered clearly from that day. He said, “So, you were the last thing I saw. I looked in the camera. I was like looking around making sure I wasn’t going to take anybody with me.”

And with these words, even the host could not stop herself from joking about the romantic exchange between the two drivers. Hearing that he was the last person that Chastain saw, a blushing Chase Elliott said, “Man! Wow! Thanks.”

As soon as Ross Chastain shared his thoughts while riding the wall, Joey Logano asked if he got to see much while doing it. To this, Chastain replied, “No, not a thing. I let go of the wheel halfway through.”

Surprised by his answer, Cup Series finalist Joey Logano exclaimed, “Jesus take the wheel, huh?” Furthermore, Logano asked that when he had let go of the wheel, where exactly did he put his hands.

To this, Chastain replied that he had put his hands up in the air as if he was holding an imaginary steering wheel, He added something more hilarious. He said that after keeping his hands up, he grabbed the steering wheel back “just in time to run into Brad (Keselowski). Again.”
