It was a big year for female drivers in NASCAR this year, showcasing their racecraft and grit in the Truck Series. One racer in particular who is creating positive headlines is 19-year-old Hailie Deegan.
The California native made her Truck Series debut in 2020 at Kansas Speedway. On her first-ever outing, she showed rival drivers why she deserved to race them on a much more consistent basis.
Deegan has now posted a video on her Instagram account, which shows her younger self in a race suit. It then cuts to the present time, where she is speaking after her Truck racing debut.

Hailie Deegan has been racing at different levels for 11 years now
The caption of Deegan’s latest throwback post on Instagram read, “Crazy how time flies. Can’t believe it’s already been 11 years since my first race.”
Originally starting off riding bikes, she transitioned into racing karts in off-road and dirt tracks. Hailie also later became the first female driver in three decades to win a race in the K&N Pro Series West.

Her efforts in the junior racing series saw her achieve a full-time drive with DGR-Crosley for the 2021 Truck Series campaign. She will now likely partner Tanner Gray as a teammate for the new season.

Ahead of the new season, she was signed by the Ford drivers’ development program, switching from Toyota. as a result, she now has an opportunity to pilot the No.17 Ford F-150 for the DGR-Crosley team.

Hailie had earlier stated at the time, “I am excited for this next step in my career with Ford Performance.
I have raced trucks in the off-road world but to now have the opportunity to race trucks next season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is a dream come true.”
It has certainly been a long road of hard work and struggles for Hailie en route to various levels of junior karting and racing. Now, possibly, she will look back and tell her eight-year-old self from the video that with the right efforts, dreams indeed come true!
