Today, NBC released a promo video for the upcoming NASCAR-IndyCar doubleheader at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Both the races will air live on NBC. This 4th of July weekend, the NASCAR Cup Series will share the venue with the IndyCar Series on the same event weekend for the first time.
The IndyCar Series race and Xfinity ‘Pennzoil 150’ will run on Saturday, July 4. And the NASCAR Cup Series ‘Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400’ will run on Sunday, July 5.
Renowned NASCAR journalist Adam Stern posted a tweet with the promo video. He writes, “Here’s @NBCSports new promo debuting tonight that previews the first-ever NASCAR-IndyCar doubleheader on 4th of July weekend.”

NBC Sports released the special promo to commemorates the special race weekend. And the promo video features some prominent series stars like Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott, and Jimmie Johnson.
As confirmed earlier, both the Cup Series Brickyard 400 and IndyCar Indy Grand Prix will run without spectators because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier, the annual Memorial day ‘Double duty’ was canceled because of the pandemic. The IndyCar’s Indy 500 was postponed and only the Coca Cola 600 was organized.
NBC will replace Fox as the broadcaster of NASCAR races but with a twist
Additionally, NBC will replace Fox as the broadcaster of the NASCAR races from the 4th of July weekend onwards. However, Fox will return to air the Cup Series and Xfinity races in Kentucky and the NASCAR Cup Series All-Star race in Charlotte.

This year, The broadcasters will face a schedule overlap because of the updated season calendar. COVID-19 pandemic forced the series to cancel/postpone multiple races and the season was on hold for almost 11 weeks. Recently, NASCAR published an extensive calendar with 23 races for the current season.
