Earlier last weekend, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Mike Stefanik, and Red Farmer were inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Following the ceremony, there was a celebration and everyone had a good time. At one point, there was a really sweet scene of Farmer dancing with his wife, Judy.

The 89-year-old primarily competed in the Late Model Sportsman Division in his heyday. It is also worth mentioning that he won that championship three times in a row, between 1969 and 1971. A few years before that, he won the 1956 NASCAR Modified Championship. In the Cup arena, he had 36 Cup starts, culminating in three Top 10s.

In the ARCA Series, he was a bit more successful, racking up a win and several Top 5s and Top 10s. To be precise, he notched up five Top 10s and seven Top 5 finishes in the series.

Red Farmer had an adventurous life

It appears that nothing can ever get him down. Even at the ripe old age of 89, he is still appearing to be quite spry. His dancing was clear proof of that, and in addition to that, he managed to fight off a bout of COVID-19. However, the kicker was that he managed to survive a helicopter accident in 1993. Around that time, he and Davey Allison were visiting David Bonnett, who was testing at the Talladega Superspeedway.

Tragically, that same helicopter accident claimed the life of Allison, who was just 32 at the time. Meanwhile, Red Farmer suffered from a broken collarbone and fractured ribs. To make matters scarier, he was in critical condition, but he soon made a miraculous recovery and was back on his feet. Now, he has finally found a place in the NASCAR Hall of Fame alongside Dale Jr and Mike Stefanik.
