In a recent commercial, Johnson said, “I want to be the 2021 Rookie of the Year. I’ve never gone this fast before. I can’t believe what I’m experiencing. This was my dream.”
Needless to say, his teammates also expressed their excitement to see the seven-time Cup champion in action. Obviously, Jimmie Johnson would have loved to have more time in the car. However, he knows that testing is one thing and actually racing the car is a different story.

What to expect from Jimmie Johnson in 2021?
Having said that, the 45-year-old is keen to come back to Barber Motorsports and race there. Since Johnson is only competing in the road course races, most of the tracks will be new territory for him. However, the Chip Ganassi Racing team will be more than willing to help him out.
Even his teammates, Scott Dixon, Alex Palou, and Marcus Ericsson will be there to offer a helping hand. For obvious reasons, the outfit will have laid out a number of expectations in front of Johnson. The Chip Ganassi Racing team is keen to see the NASCAR legend deliver the goods for them in his two-year stint with them.
