Bubba Wallace and his shoving match with Kyle Larson did not end well for the 23XI driver and his team. With NASCAR ruling out a penalty for Wallace’s misbehavior, the driver refused to admit that he wrecked Larson on purpose. But here is a sneak peek from Wallace and Larson’s in-car cams.’

While attempting a three-wide pass, Kyle Larson shoved Wallace into the wall although no physical contact was made. However, blaming Larson for bumping into the wall, Bubba Wallace decided to retaliate. And as a result, the Hendrick Motorsports driver spun out on the field and could not complete the race.

As if this wasn’t enough, Wallace got out of his car and began shoving Larson on the field. Moreover, the 23XI driver blamed Larson for the entire incident and said that his steering wheel stuck and he technically didn’t retaliate. And here is what the #5 and #45’s in-car cameras captured.

NASCAR has currently penalized Wallace for his actions during the race. The investigation committee established that the 23XI driver deliberately wrecked Kyle Larson. Moreover, seeing the retaliation as a ‘dangerous act,’ the governing body suspended Wallace from the next playoff race at Homestead Miami.

Fans applauded NASCAR for posting the in-car cam video on their official YouTube channel. Apart from that, most of the people in the comment section slammed Wallace for his actions. A user wrote, “Every driver is pushing as hard as possible. Going to happen. But that retaliation in Bubba’s part was uncalled for.”

Whereas another one questioned NASCAR’s penalty. Comparing Wallace’s penalty with an NFL and MMA equivalent, the user wrote;

“In the NFL the equivalent would be a 4 game and a massive financial fine. And that would be the bare minimum. To people that don’t know much about racing, hooking someone’s right rear on a straight (fastest part of most tracks) is like a targeting hit on the head in football or a 90-degree elbow in MMA, or if a pitcher hit someone in the face with a fastball on purpose.”

It is clear that fans are glad that the governing body recognized that it was an act of retaliation on Bubba Wallace’s part. However, at the same time, they are disappointed with the penalty. Hence, a lot of other users requested the governing body to decide upon more severe punishments so that acts like these can be avoided in the future.
