During the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at the Texas Motor Speedway, Harrison Burton took an unexpected victory. To achieve this, he pulled off a last-lap overtake on Noah Gragson.
The way things unfolded, Gragson had a pretty comfortable lead, with 3 laps to go. However, Burton had just taken 2nd place and was beginning the hunt.
From there, Burton chased down the leader and steadily chipped away at the lead. The battle raged on until the last lap when Gragson encountered a bit of traffic.

He held off Burton as much as possible, but the #20 driver took the inside line into the final corner and shot across the finish line first.
Admittedly, Burton is already out of the running for the Playoffs, so this win comes a little too late. However, this does serve as a massive morale boost for the driver.
In addition to that, it could also strengthen his standing in the 2021 season. In other words, he could become a much more noticed figure in the Xfinity series.

Burton had an up and down race following a spin and subsequent caution. The good news was that he was still in the game and was able to continue unabashed.

Admittedly, he lucked out a little bit, when a crash compromised Justin Allgaier, Brandon Jones, and Ross Chastain. In the end, Gragson had to settle for 2nd, with Anthony Alfredo in 3rd.
Cindric finished 4th, ahead of Brandon Brown, Michael Annett, Haley, Ryan Vargas, Josh Williams, and Tommy Joe Martins.
Burton’s triumph complicates things for the playoff drivers, as they have one race to cement their place in the Championship 4. So when the Xfinity paddock reaches the Martinsville paddock, the playoff drivers will be under a lot of pressure.

Admittedly, some playoff drivers could have become Harrison Burton fans, as he handed them yet another opportunity to qualify. However, the admiration won’t last too long as the drivers will be at each other’s throats soon enough.
