NASCAR’s two best drivers, Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin, showed why they have been the best this season. The two men were involved in an exciting race to the finish in the second stage, which Hamlin won.
They showcased brilliant racing skills, taking over from Chase Elliott, who dominated the early part of the race. Harvick and Hamlin soon took the lead as they knew a win takes them directly to the championship race at Phoenix.

Just as the final lap in the second stage of the race started, Hamlin led the pack with Harvick right at his tail. It was the perfect example of skillful and hard racing as they fought for the stage win.
Harvick made his move coming off Turn 2 in the final lap. Hamlin came up the racetrack as Harvick made a strong run coming off the back straightaway. Hamlin then went to the bottom of the track and it seemed Harvick had his chance to make the pass.

Then, coming off Turn 4, Hamlin kept his nerve and the lead as Harvick did his best to catch him. In the No. 11 car, Hamlin just about crossed the finish line ahead of Harvick in the No. 4 car. Dale Earnhardt Jr., who was in commentary, was excited as well watching the contest.
Hamlin and Harvick have been a class apart this season. With 16 wins among them, many expect them to safely make it through the current round and into the championship race at Phoenix. Some of them are their competitors themselves.

“Denny is not completely out of my reach. He’s 19 points in front of me…So I think I’ve got a shot at legitimately racing him on points, but probably the others don’t. With respect to that, I think Kevin’s a pretty good ways away from everybody.”
Hamlin aims to get the ‘monkey off his back’ and finally win a NASCAR Cup Series championship. Harvick, on the other hand, can become the first driver in 13 years to win 10 races in a season.
