During the NASCAR Truck Series race at the Daytona road course, the heavens opened. Luckily, it soon stopped, but the track was still a little damp. Naturally, there was a lot of slipping and sliding on the opening lap of the Camping World Truck race. Heading into the first corner, many took it very gingerly.

Unfortunately, not everyone survived the corner, as there were a couple of spins. Miraculously, there was no major contact between any of the drivers. On the other end of the scale, it did create a massive traffic jam, which forced a bulk of the field to take evasive action.

In the end, Ben Rhodes took a second consecutive Truck Series win at the Daytona track. Admittedly, this win was slightly controversial, as he and Sheldon Creed bumped and barged into each other. Rhodes may have won, but Creed was far from impressed with his stunts.

How did the NASCAR Truck Series race conclude?

As mentioned before, Rhodes stormed to a second consecutive win, obviously hitting some sort of sweet spot in his form. Out of 51 laps, Rhodes managed to lead 17 of them, including the all-important final few.

When the race concluded, Sheldon Creed was under the impression that Rhodes pushed him off the track. He felt that Creed occupied far too much of the tarmac.

It is also worth mentioning that Sheldon Creed already had issues during the NASCAR Truck race. First and foremost, he had a small coming together with Bobby Reuse in the #3 Chevy, who was a lap down.

Later on, Creed himself fell victim to his own mistake when he dropped from first to fifth. This occurred during a Stage 3 yellow flag because he failed to maintain proper pace in an effort to save fuel down the stretch. In the end, it was enough for Rhodes to get away.
