Another NASCAR Cup race done and dusted, and there are yet more talking points. The latest one comes from none other than Trackhouse Racing driver Ross Chastain. This is because, he pulled off an incredible move to rocket up to 5th place from 10th on the track. Truthfully, it is no ‘Pass in the Grass’, but it was no less spectacular.

Recently, Stewart-Haas Racing driver Chase Briscoe attempted to recreate the move. Since it had been dubbed a ‘video game move’, Briscoe turned to the virtual world to recreate the stunt. Sadly, he was only half successful, because he was able to wall ride for a couple of seconds before getting bumped off.
What lies ahead for Ross Chastain in the NASCAR Cup Series?

Next weekend at the Phoenix Raceway, the real test begins for the #1 driver. He will have to either win the race or outscore his rivals. Considering that his competition consists of Joey Logano, Chase Elliott and Christopher Bell, it will not be easy. Hopefully for his sake, teammate Daniel Suarez decides to give him a helping hand for the race.
Without a doubt, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr and Kyle Busch will try to help Bell. Kyle Larson, Alex Bowman and William Byron will aid Chase Elliott, and Ryan Blaney and Austin Cindric will back Logano. In other words, all four teams will work hard to ensure that their driver emerges as the champion.

Out of the four contenders, only Elliott and Logano are former Cup Series champions, winning in 2020 and 2018 respectively. Meanwhile, Chastain and Bell are hunting for their maiden Cup Series title. One thing is for sure, the battle will be fierce, and every one of them will dig deep in their bag of tricks to try and win. Hopefully for Chastain’s sake, he has another stunt like the wall riding slingshot.
