In an interesting turn of events, Wallace took the #45 car to victory lane for the second time this year after holding off the very owner of #45 and his boss, Denny Hamlin. The #11 Joe Gibbs Racing driver struggled in the initial part of the race but gained speed in the closing stages.

Although the JGR driver achieved a P2 in the race, he is yet to confirm his final spot in the next round of the playoffs. He would have automatically proceeded to the next round if he would have won the race by crossing his own team’s driver in time.
