Kyle Larson didn’t exactly have one of the more memorable races of his season at Darlington. The defending Cup Series champion ran into yet another mechanical issue that negatively affected his result.

Still, he managed to recover solidly from the setback, earning himself a decent finish in the end.

Now, despite his ‘comeback’ of which he self-admittedly was proud, Larson wasn’t really laughing. However, his maneuvers in the race made Tyler Reddick laugh.

In a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, Bubba Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft named his ‘More Than Fast Moment’ from the Darlington playoff race.

“First one goes to Kyle Larson for how fast he spun and took the waver around and got himself back in position to get back on the lead lap, that was pretty impressive on his part,” the spotter said which made the #8 driver chuckle.

As for his own pick for the answer, Reddick went with another driver related to, at least for now, Hendrick Motorsports.

“Seeing how out of gas he was at the end of the race, how hard he was pushing to stay in that fight,” the RCR driver said. “He got passed by Kyle Larson, and then stay in it, not let the leaders run away from him, I gotta give it to my man…Noah Gragson.”

Kyle Larson sees a lot of parallels between him and Tyler Reddick

In an interview from earlier this year, the Hendrick driver pointed to the fellow NASCAR driver, who he predicted to have a breakthrough season.

“I think Tyler Reddick is going to have an amazing season,” Larson said. “I think he’s been the best car at all the tests, I think he showed last week at the Clash he’s really good.”

He continued, “I feel like when I watch him, I’m watching myself just because we’re both really aggressive and he seems to be even a little more aggressive and keep things in control better than I could back when I was running really hard in Ganassi equipment trying to run up front.”
