Following the massive crash at the NASCAR Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway, 23XI Racing’s driver, Bubba Wallace took over the team radio to let out a furious rant directed toward the new generation cars.

Bubba Wallace mentioned, NASCAR, these f**** cars suck when you get hit in the rear! Never thought I’d get the breath knocked out of me getting hit in the rear. What a f**** joke we drive.

However, this is not the first time NASCAR drivers have been outspoken regarding the hard impacts they feel when involved in crashes.

Drivers such as Denny Hamlin, Ty Gibbs, Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch, spotters of the door bumper clear podcast, Joey Logano, and Christopher Bell have also voiced their concerns about the impending issue at hand.

What did multiple NASCAR drivers say about the issues with the next-gen car?

Every driver who has been in a collision or a wreck this year has been outspoken about how bad it hurts during these crashes. Even though NASCAR’s own test data show that the impacts are much better absorbed than previous generations, reality shows a completely different discourse.

Moreover, the qualifying crash of Kurt Busch at Pocono, saw him rendered out of the championship as he sustained brain injuries.

After Joey Logano crashed at the Coke 600, he mentioned that he has never hit harder in his life. He also went on to say that these cars made the impact worse and he was hurt after the crash. Similarly, Kevin Harvick mentioned that it felt like “hitting a concrete wall”.

Other drivers, such as Ty Gibbs, who replaced the injured Kurt Busch for every race since Pocono, stated that he felt the hit to be pretty intense in regards to the fact that he only hit the barrier softly.

With every other driver complaining about the impact forces of these cars, NASCAR ought to make some major changes in order to make them safer for the ones actually driving it.
