The NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Talladega has just concluded, and it was as wild as its Truck Series counterpart. As it turns out, the series witnessed its third first-time winner of the season, in the form of Brandon Brown. He triumphed ahead of Brandon Jones, Justin Allgaier, Daniel Hemric, and Jordan Anderson.

Naturally, the driver was absolutely ecstatic to visit Victory Lane for the first time in his career. He crowed on the radio, “Oh my God! Wow! Just wow! This is a dream come true, this is a dream come true. I’m taking the chequered flag! LETS GO! That you so much! We did it! We did it and we won! Oh my God, dad, we did it! Everything we hoped and dreamed for. Everything I wanted to do is take the trophy home to mom and dad.”

Admittedly, the race finish was slightly anti-climatic because it ended behind the safety car. It got way too dark, so the officials decided to wrap up early. Prior to the decision, the caution flag was out due to a crash earlier on. Obviously, the officials felt that this was a warning sign, so they elected to stop the race.

What was the impact of the Brandon Brown victory?

Apparently, this is the second race in a row where a non-Playoff driver won, with Josh Berry being the first. At this particular race, the Talladega Superspeedway caught out several Playoff drivers. To be precise, half of them ended up in the Top 10 in the race at Talladega. Out of all of them, Brandon Jones was the highest finisher in second.

Meanwhile, it was a bad day in the office for AJ Allmendinger, Noah Gragson, and Harrison Burton. The three of them finished in 39th, 30th, and 25th respectively. Additionally, Myatt Snider finished the race in 31st while Riley Herbst wound up all the way down in 27th. At least Jeremy Clements managed to fare a little better in 24th.
