Following the NASCAR Truck Series finale at the Phoenix Raceway, Ben Rhodes emerged triumphant. Obviously, the driver was pretty jubilant after clinching his maiden title. However, it seems that he took his championship celebrations a little too far and got slightly drunk.
Ahead of the Champions Week at Nashville, somebody clearly did not want to let him live it down. This is because Rhodes discovered that an anonymous person ‘gifted‘ him a few beer bottles and a bottle of champagne. Evidently, they found his drunk interview hilarious and probably wanted him to re-create it.
Just checked into the room for #ChampionsWeek in #Nashville. Somebody’s got jokes! 😂 Either way this will be gone in a short time. Thanks for the @budlight! pic.twitter.com/GfxGAIis8J

During that press conference at Phoenix, Rhodes slurred, “Here’s how this happened, my crew chief gave me this adjustment. Some lower air pressures, because I said, ‘Hey, this isn’t going to happen. I can’t win the race this way. They’re beating me on the restarts’. He pumped me up, didn’t work out in the second stage, took me back down.”
Ben Rhodes will be looking forward to defending his title
Now, when the 2022 season arrives, the 24-year-old will have the unenviable task of defending his crown. Once again, he will stick with ThorSport Racing for a seventh consecutive season. Over the course of his career, Rhodes has been constantly improving, and thoroughly deserved the title. Without a doubt, it was a fierce dogfight, right from the first race at the Daytona International Speedway, until the finale at the Phoenix Raceway.

Of course, the road will be peppered with obstacles, namely new and old rivals. Among them, he will have to keep a wary eye on the likes of Zane Smith, John Hunter Nemechek, and his own teammate Matt Crafton. Apart from them, there are drivers like Sheldon Creed, Chandler Smith, Grant Enfinger, and many more.

Nevertheless, the driver will be confident that he is up for the challenge.
