Humans have made great strides in providing a healthy environment for women in our society. Still, plenty of women feel threatened to even walk alone in some places. And Danica Patrick had a conversation with Dr. Jordan Peterson about the downside of being a woman.

The iconic psychologist came on an episode of Danica’s podcast, “Pretty Intense”. And the two talked about the dangers of being a woman in the current world.

Dr. Peterson said, “Women become sexually vulnerable at puberty.”, “There’s plenty of places in the world where walking alone would make you a valid target, even.”

And Patrick even agreed to this as she nodded her head in agreement and said, “Right.” Of course, providing humans with safety in developed areas took a lot of effort. But what many fail to notice, as the Psychologist explained, is that safety is more of a privilege than it is an expectation.

He stressed that point as he said, “We assume that our relatively safe environments are normal. They are not, they took a lot of work to get safe. Like, so much work that it’s incomprehensible.”

Patrick outlined the difference between a Male and Female athlete in a male-dominated sport. She said, “If there is a pretty girl, it’s like they don’t know how to describe a pretty girl other than being sexy and that has such a negative connotation to it.”

Danica added, “You don’t describe a guy like that. You don’t frame it that way for a guy. If female athletes are pretty, they only know how to describe them in a sexual way.”
