The race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway was full of chaotic moments. The race saw a lot of drivers being forced off track, spinning, and colliding with each other. Moreover, the team radio kept erupting in rage from time to time as well. During one radio call, Martin Truex Jr let out a rant at fellow driver AJ Allmendinger after the former blocked him during a turn.

On the radio, Martin was heard saying, “16 keeps blocking me, I’m gonna ******* send him”. Martin ended up finishing 21st. Meanwhile, AJ Allmendinger finished all the way up in 7th.
A. J. Allmendinger had won twice previously on this track. He enjoyed some time in the lead but could not manage to win it for the third time. Instead, Tyler Reddick of RCR took the race victory after an epic duel with Ross Chastain. Later on, even Chastain was dropped out of contention as he received a penalty for cutting corners.

The final top five included Tyler Reddick, Austin Cindric, Harrison Burton, Todd Gilliland, and Bubba Wallace. Bubba initially crossed the line in 6th position but was moved up the order after Ross Chastain was handed a penalty. Ironically, Bubba, who also had cut across the grass on the penultimate lap, was not given any penalty.

In his four-year-long stint with JGR, the 2017 Cup Series Champion could only avail one pole. However, he wasn’t so lucky in the race.

During an interview, Truex Jr. said, “We’ve got a lot of race wins, and those are obviously more important. You always want to be the fastest guy. We got a small victory today.”
Martin could only manage a 4th place finish at best during the main race. He said, “Just the Loudon curse for me, I guess.”
