The consensus on Parker Kligerman, the part-time NASCAR driver, has, in many ways, a one-of-a-kind career, is that he’s one of the nicest guys to have around. The driver is a fan favorite by all accounts.

However, even someone like him can have the tempers get to his head. This was something that was on display during the Truck Series race at Nashville Superspeedway.

Because of a race incident in which he felt he was hard done by, Kligerman confronted fellow driver Derek Kraus in the pit road. This led to a verbal altercation between the two that would’ve gone unnoticed if not for a fan who recorded it from the stands.

Parker Kligerman set for MX-5 Cup Race at Road America

The part-time driver-part-time broadcaster was recently announced to be taking part in the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup race at the Road America. Parker Kligerman will take part in both of the 45-minute races.

Speaking about this, Kligerman described how he has been interested in racing in the MX-5 Cup “for a while now” simply because it looks fun.

“These are often the best races of the weekend wherever they go. The racing is immensely competitive, and you constantly see passes you didn’t think were possible,” he continued. “I’m eager to get behind the wheel of the MX-5 Cup car. Big thank you to Mazda Motorsports for this opportunity.”

Along with Kligerman himself, the Mazda Motorsports Program Manager Jonathan Applegate is also thrilled to have him as the guest driver in their series. Applegate emphasized on how special it is for their series to be racing on the same weekend as the NASCAR Cup Series.

“We wanted to make the most of this opportunity in front of a new fan base by putting a guest driver in a car. Parker is the perfect fit; he’s more than qualified to drive the car, he’s a recognizable figure for NASCAR fans, and he’s a media personality,” he added.
