During the NASCAR Cup Series race at the World Wide Technology Raceway, Ross Chastain became a massive annoyance. Two of his main victims were Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott. The first incident occurred during the second stage when Chastain came tanking down the inside of Hamlin. Unfortunately, he could not stop in time and tagged the Joe Gibbs Racing driver, sending him into the outside wall.

Later on, Chastain spun Chase Elliott, with Bubba Wallace also spinning to avoid them. In response, Elliott’s spotter Eddie D’Hondt quipped, “That kid needs an a**-whipping.” Later on, both the #11 and #9 teams decided to plot their revenge. Hamlin’s spotter suggested getting a fresh set of tires and ‘destroying the s** of a b****’.

In his revenge, Hamlin got alongside the Trackhouse driver and tried to force him off the track. Somehow, Chastain managed to escape unscathed and overtake. Talking about Hamlin’s antics, the #1 driver promised to talk about it after the race. Meanwhile, JGR spotter Chris Lambert told his driver that the officials think that he made his point very clear. At that, Denny Hamlin got very snarky and quipped, “Haha! Yeah right.”

Ross Chastain got into further problems with Chase Elliott

When the Hendrick Motorsports driver became the next victim, Hamlin had a front row seat. He cheekily called out, “Oh nice! Our boy got him another one.” Hendrick crew chief Alan Gustafson told Elliott that when they get a chance for revenge, they should not screw it up.

What followed next was a bit of a tag team with Hamlin and Elliott against Chastain. After the race was over, Hamlin was the one who was more angry about the sequence of events. Hopefully for their and everyone else’s sake, they calm down. Luckily, the coming race weekend will give Chastain and Hamlin enough time to get rid of the red mist in their eyes.
