The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series‘ TSport 200 ended in a thrilling win for Ty Majeski, who drives the No. 98 Ford F-150 for Thorsport Racing. The 17th race of the season took place at Indianapolis Raceway Park with a total of 36 entries. Christian Eckes was named the official runner-up, and Cup Series hotshot Shane van Gisbergen, driving the No. 41 for Niece Motorsports in his first oval, finished in the 19th position.
But the night wasn’t favorable for all the drivers who were behind the wheel at Indianapolis on Friday. Hailie Deegan, race winner Ty Majeski’s teammate at Thorsport Racing, had a rather quick night that she’ll want to forget.

Starting to be known for her on-track aggressiveness, Hailie came into the race with positivity brimming from her 2nd place finish in the SRX race at Eldora Speedway in New Weston. She began the night in the 25th spot, and the first caution of the race came out when 17-year-old Landen Lewis of Roper Racing was caught in a tangle with Hailie. A few laps after the restart, Landon collided with Hailie’s truck, causing it to crash into the wall.
The crash wrecked Hailie’s car but Landen was able to carry on and finished the race at 28th position. Heading back from Indianapolis after the long weekend, the team of DirtyMo Media’s “Door Bumper Clear” podcast discussed the races that went down and how Hailie’s unfortunate night had almost totally destroyed Corey LaJoie’s prediction before the race.

In the latest episode of “Door Bumper Clear”, Freddie Craft (Cup Series spotter for Bubba Wallace), discussed the weekend’s events with fellow spotters Brett Griffin and TJ Majors, and Casey Boat (NASCAR Insider). Talking about the Craftsman Truck Series race, Freddie revealed that he’d been speaking with Spire Motorsports driver, Corey LaJoie prior to the race, and the 31-year-old had said that he felt the race was going to see the checkered flag under normal conditions without much mishap.
According to Freddie, Corey had attributed this positive instinct to “Just the way this place lays out”. Continuing further on how Hailie had almost turned false this prediction, Freddie said, “Aside from Hailie wrecking on lap, whatever that was, 2 or 3, we went green the rest of the way. So, I mean, he saw that coming.”
While the night did end on a pretty bad note for Hailie, she does have much rejoicing from her enthralling finish in the SRX race. Support has been pouring in from all sides, notably from racing legends Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch. Any dream of winning the Craftsman Truck Series though, is now over for the 22-year-old.
