Did Gianna Tulio steal the show at the NASCAR Awards, or was it someone else?

NASCAR drivers were pulled out of their comfort zone last weekend at the Award Ceremony at Charlotte Convention Center. Used to wearing the fire suits every weekend, last Friday the drivers had to suit up to mark their presence at the special event. Although the award ceremony was the main agenda of the evening, the Red Carpet show certainly became the talking point among the NASCAR community.

Not only drivers, but their better halves added more glamor at the red carpet event. While it was hard to pick out a single lady from the event that stood out from the rest of the pack, it seems like one NASCAR insider has made up his mind.

Apart from posing for photos on the red carpet, the hosts handed a miniature mic to the couples and asked them what they were wearing. The idea was to let the fans know what designer clothes or brands they choose to wear for this special occasion. Well, only a few of them had an idea, and Blaney’s fiancee, Gianna Tulio, was one of them.

Impressed by Tulio’s outfit and the way she carried herself on the red carpet, Wallace stated, “So who was the most bougie? So my award for the most bougie wife was Ryan Blaney’s wife. She’s a beautiful lady and Ryan and her, they looked great. But she was the one that, when they said, ‘What are you wearing?’ And she’s like, I’m wearing [whatever it is], and she did really well.”

For a moment, Wallace forgot that Tulio and Blaney were not married yet, and he quickly came to realize that. “She’s Ryan Blaney’s girlfriend, and the other is, no, they are married, aren’t they? Respond right here. I don’t know I can’t keep up… So the bougie award goes to Ryan Blaney and his wife; they were all in; they knew the name. The rest are just us rednecks; I’m telling you, man, some stuff made me laugh.”  Blaney and his fiancee are set to get married this December so Wallace wasn’t too far off calling Tulio his wife, albeit a little too early.

Stitched By Mitch was a popular choice among the drivers, with Ryan Blaney, Tyler Reddick, Austin Cindric, and Kyle Larson all wearing suits from the Charlotte-based designer. On the other half of this event, Joey Logano gave a heartfelt message on why he is proud to be a NASCAR during his speech on the stage.

What could be more fulfilling to a race car driver than winning races or championships? After all, that’s the primary objective or the ambition of every driver or team fielding a car out on weekends. But only after winning multiple accolades and titles has Joey Logano finally understood his part in the schemes that are greater than him. For him, giving back to the community, helping out the needy, and inspiring others around him have made him more proud to be associated with NASCAR racing.

During his speech, Logano mentioned how the NASCAR community did its bit in helping out people affected by the devastation of Hurricane Helen. “What we do on the race tracks sometimes, it’s kind of pointless, right? Drive around the circles and just end up in the same place. You kind of think about that; that’s kind of goofy. But if you take the opportunity that God’s given us to talk to people, to inspire others to live a life of generosity, that’s when these driving in circles isn’t just driving in circles anymore.”

Hurricane Helene tore apart families and was a huge financial setback for thousands of people. Joey Logano did his part as the Joey Logano Foundation committed $250,000 in financial support to the relief cause. On October 29, Logano and JLF donated a Ford Explorer to Crossnore Communities for Children to replace the previous one that was destroyed in the hurricane. The 2024 Cup Series Champion touched upon the tragedy and efforts to help those in need.

“When you think about what happened in Western North Carolina, I’d say at least one person at each table probably made a huge impact at some point for the Hurricane Helene victims. That, to me, is probably something that I’m most proud of and being a part of this industry. Like I said, I’m proud of winning; I’m proud of our team, but I’m most proud to be a part of a sport that really understands that we are a part of a larger plan,” Logano added.

Hendrick Motorsports was among the NASCAR teams that pledged $2 million in relief funds. Michael Jordan and his NASCAR team, 23XI Racing, donated $1 million to the NC Disaster Relief Fund and Second Harvest of Metrolina. Logano was vocal about his honor to be part of such a community.

Joey Logano indeed spoke like a true champion, and these morals and cultural values are hard to find in other major sports.
