Most of us know how elks, deer, and turkeys roam about freely in Tony Stewart’s $30 million Hidden Hollow Ranch in Indiana. But perhaps, very few know that Tony Stewart had an unusual pet sometime back. While you might wonder if it’s a dog or a cat, it would astonish you to know that it was a monkey.

It is not uncommon for drivers in the stock car racing world to own pets. Ryan Preece even has an officially licensed #41 pet bowl for sale on eBay. However, the absurdity surrounding Tony Stewart’s monkey just ups the notch of obsession for every animal lover out there.

Many, including Ryan Preece, did not know about Tony Stewart’s friend

When the recent episode of Tony Trivia rolled out, Stewart-Haas Racing drivers faced a question that had almost everyone wheeling their heads.

“What was the name of Tony’s pet monkey?”

Ryan Preece could not believe his ears when he came to know that his boss owned a monkey. He exclaimed, “He had a monkey? No way! I thought I had a lot of animals!”

While Riley Herbst had no clue, Cole Custer recalled a significant piece of information about the animal. “I heard it used to throw p**p at people though,” he admitted.

The driver for Stewart’s #4 Ford Mustang was the first one to remember the name. “Mojo,” said Kevin Harvick, “That thing was obnoxious!”

Fans were taken aback as they understood even Stewart’s employees, like Chase Briscoe and Herbst, did not know Mojo by his name. However, Chase Briscoe remembered why Tony had to donate Mojo to the Louisville Zoo. “I think it started trying to bite Tony, so he got rid of him,” he said.

Kevin Harvick recalled the time when Tony Stewart had requested him to take his monkey in the airplane, all the way to Kansas. Kevin laughed, “I had to take the monkey from the airport to the racetrack. And I took the monkey in his cage and I set the monkey inside on top of the steps of the motor home and I shut the door.”

“And that was as close as I ever wanted to be to the monkey because the monkey was dangerous,” he added. Wait, that’s not the end. Tony had another unusual pet. However, this one was not as harmful, and some might even find it cute. It was a pig who Tony Stewart lovingly called “Porkchop”.
