The fun and entertainment are not just limited to the tracks. The furious NASCAR drivers and their love stories are as exciting as their track records. Such is the love life of Tyler Reddick and his long-time girlfriend, who is now his wife, Alexa DeLeon Reddick.

The NASCAR drivers have never failed to express their emotions to the public. Dale Earnhardt Jr. once credited his wife Amy for being the rock beside him. “Without Amy, I would’ve suffered emotionally. I would have probably given up.”

While Tyler Reddick may not be as popular as some of the other drivers in the Cup Series, his love story with his wife Alexa DeLeon is indeed special. The love affair between the two started in a Hollywood fashion when they were both teenagers. Reddick was the one who made the initial efforts to get on the sweet side of DeLeon, but she was the one who played the masterstroke that resulted in a fruitful relationship.

Tyler Reddick is truly a lucky man

Tyler Reddick’s wife Alexa, recently revealed their love story in Haley Dillon’s broadcast. Connor, DeLeon’s cousin, was friends with Reddick and the couple first met each other while the boys were playing Xbox. “When I met Tyler he had on a pair of, I should say like, Jordan brand basketball shorts and a Scott Bloomquist racing t-shirt. He had long hair and some 16-year-old acne.” Alexa DeLeon recalled their first meeting.

Like in most stories, Alexa DeLeon had no interest in him initially. But things got dicey when Reddick got into a relationship and this is when reality hit DeLeon and she realized she liked him. Well, it wasn’t going to be an easy task to get Reddick back but she played the role of a devil and engineered a plan to separate him from his girlfriend at the time.

“He was definitely like flirty the first couple of times we met, and I just had no interest. Then we became friends for a long while. We were just friends and then he got a girlfriend. I was like oh hold up, I have a crush on you. So um I ended up getting them to break up and that worked out well for me I guess. That’s like so evil 16-year-old Alexa. They broke up.”

Their first date itself was a fascinating one – on a cruise! As they moved on together, these young lovebees have had many ups and downs in their relationship. As DeLeon went for studies, Reddick came out to Huntersville, racing for Brad Keselowski in the Truck Series. And this split according to DeLeon was the best decision the couple took during the early stages of their professional career.

“We broke up – got back together, we broke up – we got back together. I moved out here, woke up one day, and was like I’ve never been with anyone else, we have to break up. T moved to Chicago and found myself. I think he kind of did the same. I still do not regret that decision at all like the best decision ever we made for our relationship. He called me like 10 months later, upset, and was like I still love you and I want to get back together.”

And like they say – “happily ever after,” that was just the beginning of their love life. Beau Reddick, their first son, came. When we look it through the wider lense, from that 16-year-old kids, to the parents of two, not just Alexa DeLeon, but Reddick has also grown to be the ‘family man’. Family, for him, is as important as the race and passion.

“The year I went to RCR we were approaching the playoffs and then I found out that we’re going to be parents. It was just an extra source of motivation for me and as um I found out I’m going to be in the eighth car and racing in the cup series for the first time as a Rookie if I go out and make some really stupid decisions, not only it is going to affect my life, going to affect my family’s life. My wife’s life my kid’s. So all those things really helped push me to be uh be a better individual on and off the racetrack all in all it was really cool for me.” Reddick shared this on the Dale Jr. Download.

Deleaon and Reddick tackled the challenges life threw at them, but they stuck together. The couple is now expecting their second child after making their relationship official last year. It was as if the 2024 NASCAR season was a blessing for the couple, apart from getting married and the announcement of a baby boy, Reddick reached his first championship race.

The winning moment at Miami

Tyler Reddick stunned the Cup Series garage when he defeated Kyle Larson to win the regular season championship after 26 races last year. After wins at Talladega and Michigan, the driver of the No. 45 Toyota Camry was in hot pursuit of his first tile. The 2-time Xfinity Series champ was keen to reach the pinnacle of NASCAR racing and 2024 looked to be his year.

But as the playoffs came around, all the momentum and the energy the team had started to crumble. Had it not been for the playoff points he collected in the regular season, he could’ve been eliminated in the first few rounds. Then came the race at Homestead Miami Speedway in the Round of 8 and only a win would see Reddick through. Ryan Blaney looked destined to take the checkered flag on the final two-lap shootout, but the 23XI Racing driver had an ace up his sleeve.

On the very final lap of the race, Reddick launched a slingshot move in Turns 3 and 4, hugging the wall and creating momentum on the corner exit. The No. 12 car surprisingly took the middle lane and Reddick was able to punch his ticket through to the championship race in Phoenix. It was NASCAR racing at it’s best and the commentators themselves couldn’t believe what they had witnessed.

“Tyler Reddick is not done yet. Tyler Reddick Drives all the way around Ryan Blaney. Can you believe what you have just seen? Reddick’s going to Phoenix!”

Michael Jordan was on hand at the track after the win at Talladega, there to celebrate a victory achieved by one of his drivers as the owner of a NASCAR Cup team. Jordan picked up Beau, Reddick’s four-year-old son, to celebrate their victory in a video that has become widely shared. “He did a great job,” Jordan told Beau.

Apart from the birth of their firstborn son Beau, the moment at Homestead Miami Speedway was special for Reddick and his wife DeLeon. Who knows the 2025 could be a repeat of last year, bringing a bundle of joy and happiness for the Reddicks, both on and off the racetrack.
