Home/NASCAR

The Superbowl has concluded, but is still lingering in people’s minds. Those people also include major NASCAR celebrities. The Philadelphia Eagles took down the Kansas City Chiefs spectacularly, putting a stop to their championship streak. The 40-22 game was as stunning as it gets – but so was the musical fest during the interval. Kendrick Lamar’s performance captivated people – including Tyler Reddick’s wife.

The 23XI Racing No. 45 driver is on his way to becoming a father. On 1st January, Tyler Reddick and his wife Alexa DeLeon announced that they were expecting a second baby in June 2025. As DeLeon approaches her due date, the pregnancy complications rise as well – but she adds a touch of Super Bowl humor to that.

The Eagles’ victory was a fabulous redemption after their 2022 defeat. However, the internet appears to be more engrossed with Kendrick Lamar’s performance. The background behind it began in March 2024, when the conflict between Lamar and his rival rapper Drake was ignited. The two kept releasing soundtracks that dissed each other’s personality traits. Drake called Lamar a ‘mid-et’ due to his height and a ‘record label puppet’, while Lamar called the other a ‘habitual liar’. This slugfest reached a climax with the ‘Not Like Us’ song. That dropped a major accusation about Drake, and he proceeded to sue Lamar. This dramatic sequence of events enthralled many, including Tyler Reddick’s wife.

Yet Kendrick Lamar started off his Super Bowl show with these lines: “I want to play their favourite song… but you know they love to sue.” His performance was dotted with more intentional jabs at Drake, a short video clip of which Tyler Reddick’s wife Alexa posted on an Instagram story. She hilariously connected her pregnancy mood swings with Lamar’s ongoing feud. She wrote, “My pregnancy hormones: Me on my way to be petty even though everyone told me to let it go.”

Alexa Deleon was clearly fed up with Kendrick Lamar and Drake publicizing their conflict. She seems to have followed the Super Bowl religiously. Tyler Reddick mentioned a few days ago that Corey LaJoie could be a good NFL player. However, another NASCAR celebrity reacted to Lamar’s performance – although for wholly different reasons. The 1987 Buick GNX, which Lamar used for his Super Bowl appearance, enchanted Dale Earnhardt Jr. The GNX vehicle was directly connected to the NASCAR Grand National Series, standing for ‘Grand National Experimental’.

While his wife is engrossed in the NFL, Tyler Reddick made an NBA reference. He displayed some snazzy Michael Jordan colors at Bowman Gray.

When 23XI Racing released the No. 45 livery for the Cook Out Clash, fans were stunned. The colors were heavy with meaning. The team painted the word “Unbannable”, a far-from-subtle jab at the ongoing lawsuit between Michael Jordan and NASCAR. Additionally, it also referred to the NBA controversy that Jordan was involved in back in the 1980s. The NBA fined him $5,000 for every game he played in a pair of Air Jordan 1s. However, Nike ironically paid for those fines to drop the revenue that the controversy was creating for the brand.

Hailing this culture of standing up for what a sports athlete like Michael Jordan believes in, Tyler Reddick was excited to display this livery at the Clash. “Jordan Brand is a global brand, right? They have a life outside of racing, and they sell shoes all over the world.I can understand that, I know what the idea and what they’re going to do, I’m not going to talk to you about it today. Keeping in mind the rollout and what they’ve got planned, there’s not a lot I can talk about, but I’m excited to once we get to that point.” Reddick drove this snazzy car to a commendable 8th-place finish at Bowman Gray.
